I've discovered lately how the older I get, the more precise things cut out to be for myself. Choices become clearer, and decisions are easier. Whether that may be deciding which vegetables to get at the grocery store, or which button-up to put on for a Tuesday outing, or which fragrance I like to wear in front of certain people.
I don't necessarily do more or choose less than my former childhood self, but I've just found my workaround or straight-away for everything.
Maybe that's the meaning of growing up: doing with a lot less thinking. Understanding one's self more and more each day.
It's more gratifying -- finding comfort in sitting with yourself, thinking by yourself, and living for yourself.
Where your headspace and workspace integrate, I think that's where you find your most clearly-conscious self.
